We have 2 Feliński pony mares (kuc feliński) and one young hucul pony gelding,
who is yet to be prepared for work in hippotherapy. Both mares already used to work with children in hippotherapy during their stay with the previous owner. They are of a very gentle nature which considerably helps in hippotherapeutic work. The pedigree information concerning our horses is presented at the bottom of the page. The sessions are run under a constant therapist’s protection, usually from the ground. Children are accepted for hippotherapeutic sessions after a prior written consent from their consulting doctor, which confirms the lack of contraindications for hippotherapy. There is neither lower nor upper age limit for children. The youngest children are usually treated by just a contact with a horse, which considerably facilitates sessions on a horseback at a later stage of a therapy. I recommend visits with the youngest children possible, since it considerably increases the chances of a successful therapy.
Sessions usually last 30 minutes. They may be shortened if the child’s physical form on a particular day makes it impossible to complete the session. The optimal, recommended frequency is 3 times a week. With children who are accommodated in our guest house, we recommend the following options (depending on the length of stay):
• 7 days – 6 sessions with a one-day break after 3 days
• 14 days – 3 sessions, 1 day break, 4 sessions, 1 day break, 5 sessions
• 21 days – 3 sessions, 1 day break, 4 sessions, 1 day break, 5 sessions, 1 day break, 6 sessions.
The schedule may be modified at any time to suit the individual needs of a child.

Depending on the disorder, we make use of the following forms of hippotherapy:
- equine movement therapy – a horse passes on the movement pattern to the human brain
- physiotherapy on a horse – gymnastics on a horse
- therapy through contact with a horse – typically used in mental disorders and addictions
- psychopedagogic horse riding.
Please note, that there exist some strict contraindications for hippotherapy:
- allergy to horse coat or smell
- unhealed wounds
- fear of a horse
- retinal detachment, increased intraocular pressure
- lack of head control
- hip dysplasia
- acute illnesses and mental disorders
- increased body temperature
- acute infectious diseases.
We also welcome adults who would like to participate in therapeutic sessions. We especially encourage adults:
- with multiple sclerosis
- after a stroke
- after cranio-cerebral traumas
- with mental illnesses and psychic disorders (excluding acute conditions)
- with addictions
- with musculosceletal system disorders against neurological or orthopaedic background.
In each case we strongly recommend a prior medical consultation.
